Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was an awesome movie! This movie had me captivated as soon as Professor Snape made the unbreakable vow to help Draco Malfoy kill Professor Dumbledore. My excitement was only heightened during the scene showing Fred and George's new magic shop.
The Deatheater ceremony for Draco Malfoy didn't surprise me at all. We all saw that coming since book one. This movie had one of my favorite characters from the Harry Potter books, Luna. She’s very eccentric and keeps you on your toes.
As with every Harry Potter story, the potions in the movie didn’t disappoint. We're instantly thrown back into the magic of Hogwarts during one of the first scenes back at the castle when Horace Slughorn gives Harry Potter the Liquid Luck potion. Just one dose of this stuff and all of your endeavors succeed. If you're looking for awesome new spells, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has them. Particularly interesting was the new spell Harry Potter found in Snape's Advanced Potions book "Sectum Sempra". This spell caused Draco Malfoy to bleed from all over his body. He ended up convulsing in a pool of his own blood on the bathroom floor after Harry Potter used the spell on him in the movie. The movie also features Dumbledore aparating out of Hogwarts, a supposedly impossible feat. It leaves you wondering if Dumbledore could have just apparated out of the way when the Deatheaters had him cornered.
Overall this was a great movie!
